Lip Repositioning Surgery procedure consists of reducing excessive gingival display.

This procedure is recommended to improve the appearance of a patient’s’ smile that displays excessive gums, also called a “gummy smile”.

This procedure is performed by removing a strip of mucosa from the upper lobby and performing a subsequent suturing to the labial mucosa of the mucogingival line. Resulting in a narrower hallway to restrict muscle pull, which reduces the exposure of the gummy smile.
